Welcome to my blog
Synthetic Feelings is a blog about Sound, Mathematics, Programming, Electronics, and whatever else I might be interested in. I chose the name for a few different reasons, but primarily for my burgeoning love for synthesis and electronic music. I am new this world and have started this blog both to keep myself consistent in my learning and also to document my journey.
About Me
My name is Max, and I am a mathematician and Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, San Diego. Before moving to California, I grew up in Arizona and later received my undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago. I am now in the final years of obtaining my degree and am primarily focused on research. I have an academic website for anyone interested in my actual research--this blog will instead include only "recreational" mathematics.
Before getting into mathematics, I have always had a love for electronics, computers, and programming. As a huge music nerd, it was only natural that eventually I would begin to experiment with creating music myself, and it is a beautiful way to combine all of my interests into a creative outlet that I can, hopefully through this blog, share with others.
